Catching Up
First I want to apologize for the hiatus in posting recently. It seems that while the world slowed down due to a pandemic, I did not. I want to share with you several exciting things that I’ve been working on the past few months and ask you to join me in praying that God would be glorified in each of these endeavors.
- As many of you know, I teach full-time at Truett McConnell University. Last spring, I was told to create an online counseling degree to compliment our on campus degree. I have spent countless hours during the pandemic writing curriculum and talking to prospective students. I am thrilled to announce that we have our first cohort of online students for the Master of Arts in Professional Counseling degree. To learn more click here.
- If you haven’t figured it out by now. I love writing; teaching and writing to equip others is my passion. I am thrilled to announce that Moody Publishing has agreed to publish a new book I co-wrote with Dr. Rick Fowler, a colleague at TMU. The book is entitled Grace-based Counseling. We have developed a new model for Christian counselors and clergy to use that affirms the authority of scripture and incorporates the truths of psychology of scripture; the book will include a toolbox of counseling helps as well.
- I am currently writing an updated edition of Tears to Joy. Several years ago my publisher went out of business unexpectedly meaning no more copies are being printed. Since the first publication, I have not only completed a counseling degree but now I teach counseling. Needless to say I have learned so much since the original text and I anticipate the second edition to help others in more practical ways. There will be another twist as well, but…well, you will have to read it to find out!
I am not the type of person who is content to sit around and chill; I thrive on being productive. I’m curious, how have you passed the time during the pandemic? No judgment if you’ve been catching up on Netflix — I might have binged a few shows myself.
