Giving Thanks while Grieving

Thanksgiving…even though I am incredibly grateful for so much, this year the holidays are tainted with grief. I’m thankful for all the years I spent with my grandmother. She made an indelible impression on my life. I’m grateful for our Sunday phone calls, the daily prayers, and the times we spent together. There is a void in our family that is irreplaceable. The last couple of Thanksgivings, my daughter encouraged us to make reels showing the multi-generations. Today, I treasure these videos.

If you are grieving this holiday, I pray you can remember the good times, and be grateful for the times you had together. Instead of focusing on her absence, I am choosing to focus on the presence she gave when she could have done so many other things.

I hope these reels make you smile. They bring me great joy!
