The In-Between

This morning I am pondering the day after the crucifixion. Matthew 27 tells us Pilate was afraid Jesus’ disciples might steal his body and tell the people Jesus rose from the dead. I wonder what the disciples were thinking. Were they hoping for a resurrected Jesus? Did they feel defeated and dejected? It must have been the longest 24 hours of their lives.
How do we handle seasons of waiting? Do we hope with expectancy for God to do what only he can do or do we give into despair? In our humanity, fear is often our default setting, but as God sanctifies us and makes us look more like him, we are more likely to act in faith. What are you struggling with today? Is he stretching your faith? I am praying for you that you might look for God to resurrect your circumstances (whatever they may be) and do what is holy and good.
I hope you have a blessed Easter.
Blessings,
Dr Ford
